The Chicago Bears Super Bowl Shuffle Remake

I am sure that every Bears fan out there have seen the remake of the Bears famed Super Bowl shuffle from the 1985 season and there have been many thoughts expressed about it.

Some people liked it, while some people didn’t, but it brought back some good memories of the best season in Bear’s history and helped some of us remember the glory days of the Chicago Bears.

The spot for Boost Mobile (now known as the Boost Mobile Shuffle) featured former players Richard Dent, Jim McMahon, Maury Buford, Mike Singletary, Otis Wilson, Willie Gault and others in a recreation of their hit the Super Bowl Shuffle.  Ah, those were the days.

It’s hard to imagine any other team today doing something like the Bears did way back then.  It would have been easy for either the Colts or the Saints to try something like that (e.g record a song or put out some kind of video about their success), but the fact of the matter was that nobody was sure (not even those two teams) that they would even get to the Super Bowl this season.

The 1985 Bears were that confident though, as they rolled the dice by recording the song and well, the rest is history.

It’s nice to see someone reaching back into the past to bring back up one of the greatest and most entertaining moments in Chicago Bears history.  It was nice to be taken back to better times, when the Bears were winning almost every game they played and did it in resounding fashion.

It helps bring us back to the time when everyone knew who William “The Refrigerator” Perry was and just how good Walter Payton was as a running back.

So, thanks to modern technology and some help by a few former Bears, us Bears fans were able to enjoy a little bit of a flashback to one of the finer moments of our favorite team’s history.

While some have called the commercial outrageous and one of the worst ads of the Super Bowl, I find it as a nice reminder of what we had in Chicago 25 years ago.
