19 seconds to go..Minnesota is tied in the Superdome with the New Orleans Saints at 28. The Vikings are getting ready to kick a 50 yard field goal out of a time out to win the game, then tragedy struck. A five yard penalty for having twelve men on the field. Brett Favre comes back to the huddle to call the play, and when he steps back he see's 5 yards to run and get those yards back, but instead he throws it...and it lands in the hands of Tracy Porter(who plays for NO). The rest is history, the Saints are now the Superbowl champions. The question now remains..how hungry is Brett Favre, did he accomplish it all?
1.) He beat the Packers twice and threw four touchdowns in each game.
2.) He took the Vikings to their first NFC championship game since 2000, and actually had them in position to win.
3.) He had his best statistical season he has ever had.
4.) And he proved to everyone that he can still play at a high level.
But number five is missing..he didn't win the Superbowl.
Brett Favre is a great quarterback, I've watched him beat my vikings and lead my vikings, he's torn my heart and he's pumped blood to my heart. He's made me cry in two different ways(sadness, and happiness). One thing he hasn't done is brought a championship to my team, and he can still do it. No one is doubting him anymore, not the Vikings, not the media, and definitely not the NFL. Brett needs to come back to get this ring and leave the NFL on a good note. Do it Brett..leave the NFL a champion, don't leave the same way you left in 2007.
Every hero deserves a second chance, this hero deserves a third, and when Brett gets his third chance I promise you he will not throw that interception again, he will lead the Vikings to the championship bringing this football city it's first championship. Let's start the Viking rally my purple people VIKINGS 2010 WE BELIEVE!
