Juan Pablo Montoya, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer can all challenge the big boys this 2010 season.

I don’t know many fans who really want the Hendrick golden boy to win his fifth, I know it sounds like sour grapes, but enough already!

The sport needs a shake up, it needs new heroes, it needs drivers that can actually get folks off their seats and make them scream and jump up and down.

Lets be honest folks, the last few years have not been as entertaining as advertised.

Can we agree on that?

If food sales at stadiums or tracks go up the event is probably a snoozer, so I would bet the track concession stands have been doing vary well the last two years.

Lots of sales, you know, hot dogs and burgers.

Specially the vanilla shake specials, it goes well with the vanilla drivers running up front.

Honestly folks, aren’t you tired of seeing Hendrick drivers running up front year after year?

I guess if you’re a fan of a Hendrick drivers you are okay with that.

I understand there is room for every type of drivers in this sport, but maybe is time for the vanilla folks to take a break and let the fans who like the “wild ones” Marlon Brandon type enjoy one fun year.

Who are the “wild ones” that could have the right stuff to push on the Hendrick boys?

Lets start with the drivers running the Earnhardt-Childress engines and Joe Gibbs Racing. Engines.

These are guys who will have some of the best equipment (other than Hendrick) in 2010.

The folks at Richard Childress and Earnhard-Gannasi racing where running very well the last 15 or so races last season .( they all use Earnhardt-Childress power plants).

The folks at Joe Gibbs have brand new cars for Mr. Kyle Busch and team mates.

The fallowing guys can make a run on the Hendrick boys:

Juan Pablo Montoya

Denny Hamlin

Kyle Busch

Kevin Harvick

Clint Bowyer

Some of those guys on that list act like angels (Boyer, Harvick) but don’t let that fool you , they belong on that list, they got plenty of attitude, they’re just good actors on camera.

The above drivers can certainly make a run at those Hendrick boys, but they need to gang up on the No.48, 24, 5 and 88.

Somehow they may need to work together to get to those Hendrick boys, maybe have a midnight meeting behind one of the haulers and figure out a secret plan to get them.

Okay, I’m being a little ridicules, just my lame attempt to be funny, but you get my point, some of those drivers need to get mad and refuse to lose.

What I’m trying to say is best explained by an old NFL film where Marty Schottenheimer

was asking a player if he was being held, the player said yes and was looking for his coaches sympathy, Marty pointed his finger at him and yelled “refuse to be held, refused to be held”.

That’s what drivers need to do in 2010, they need to refuse to let Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt Jr. totally take over the season.

They got to let the Hendrick boys know from day one, this year won’t be business as usual !

Montoya , Hamlin, K. Busch, Harvick and Bowyer may have what it takes to get this handled.

All those Guys are hungry for wins and championships.

Best of all they got stable crews and good equipment, those guys are some of my favorite racers in NASCAR,.

So let me just say to them:

Either man-up or shut-up and I say that with all my love and respect.

Enough said.
