Daily Market Watch: Young Gunsligers Face-off

Moving Today's Market

Six of baseball’s brightest young starters toe the rubber tonight. Two games feature a match up of these gunslingers.

The money lines are close in a face-off of the top two AL West teams featuring Oakland’s Rich Harden and Anaheim’s Ervin Santana.

Bets are closely split in the match up of Cleveland’s Cliff Lee (11-1, 2.34 ERA) and Chicago’s John Danks (5-4. 2.62 ERA). Danks has allowed a total of one run in his last three starts.

Media darlings Joba Chamberlain (2-2, 2.03 ERA) of the Yankees and Edison Volquez (10-3, 2.08 ERA) of the Reds also take the mound tonight.

Also of note is the AL East showdown of Boston @ Tampa Bay, featuring the Rays' Matt Garza coming off a one-hit effort in his last outing. Tim Wakefield starts for the BoSox. The knuckleballer has a 2.31 June ERA and is 19-3 in his career against the Rays.

With Felix Hernandez hitting the DL, the Mariners will use a combination of long relievers to fill in his innings tonight against the Blue Jays.

Key Market Moves
