Sergio Pena Wins Pole For The Toyota All Star Showdown At Irwindale
The Toyota All Star Showdown from Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, California is tonight live at 10pm on speed. The last few days have been filled with practice sessions and qualifying was held live on speed last night and what a good session we had with 16 year old rookie Sergio Pena winning the pole for the first time in his first start at Toyota Speedway in Irnwindale for the Nascar K&N Pro Series Toyota All Star Showdown Saturday night at 10pm on speed . Pena drives the #4 car for Revolution Racing. Pena looks to be a very talented driver at a young age he has won a lot of racing up until this point including six wins at the Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia. Pena is from Winchester Virginia and is looking for a great run come Saturday he was more less stunned to say the least winning the pole Friday night on speed. David Gilliland is also in the event along with Logano in what should be a great race as we have seen in years past.
On Friday night after qualifying the Nascar Whelen Late Model Series took to the track for some wild racing that including several cautions including one car rolling on the front stretch and a lot of hard hits for other drivers not a good way to start 2010. Rip Michael's took the win in the race Friday night that was ended early due to a timed race limit they did not get to complete all 100 laps of the event. In the final event of the weekend a 50 lap shootout to secure a spot in Saturday night’s showdown the win went to Micheal Self who took the victory in the last qualifying race to secure the final six spots for the event. These series are a great group of drivers who can get experience and track time to hopefully one day be the future of Nascar as many drivers suck as Logano, Gilliland, and Mark McFarland who was from Winchester VA get into nascar racing’s top divisions so good luck to everyone Saturday night and we should see a great race tune in at 10pm on Speed.
