International Conference on Sports and Society Planned for March 2010
An invitation to present a paper on Sports and Society caught my eye today. I thought it may have been from Bleacher Report, but now that I think about it, I am not sure that Bleacher Report convenes conferences for its dedicated writers. Maybe it should.
Here is more information on the international conference:
8-10 March 2010

Of the more than 241 articles I have written on Bleacher Report, many of them have been tagged "Sportsย and Society" or "Sports and STEM."
Leroy Watsonย is one of our successful and experienced sports writers who really encouraged me toย continue writing in this area, since many of my articles haveย notย been very popular when compared to other Bleacher Report writers.
Lately, though,ย I seem to beย getting moreย "reads" so I am encouraged to continue researching and popping outย articles.
Even more encouraging is to see that there is an international interest in sports and society in the academic and research communities. It certainly means that whenย Leroy Watson supported the idea of encouraging Bleacher Report to add on a team page, titled "Sports and STEM",ย some of us, I believe, are now headed in a newย direction.
I am getting on my "tiny" pedestal toย promote the conference set for March 2010.ย We have so many fine articles in our community that I feel we shouldย share them with a broader community.
Visit this link, and respond to theย Call for Papers. ย
Finally, wouldn't it be a good idea if the Bleacher Reportย Community would consider organizing a conference for some of the best writers to present their research and papers for all of us to learn from and enjoy.
I strongly encourage us to consider this proposal in the near future.
