Lowell Spinners to Host Behind-the-Scenes Wine Tasting to Benefit Non-Profit
The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at LeLacheur Park rarely seen by those outside the organization with a special Wine Tasting event the evening of Thursday, Feb. 18 to benefit the Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The event will be held at LeLacheur Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for a special night of wine, baseball, food, massages, beer, golf, and more!
The event will benefit the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, which has seen 70 percent of their funding and 90 percent of their staff cut in the past months.
“The CVB is such an influential figure in bringing people to the Merrimack Valley," said Spinners Vice President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "This is a make-or-break for them and we are hoping the community and Spinners fans alike can rally together to make this a great event for all.”
The evening will feature some of the world's finest wines, donated and hand selected by the staff of Tutto Bene, as well as a sampling of beers courtesy of Merrimack Valley Distributors.
Hors d'œuvres and cheeses will be provided by Cobblestone’s and Cabot Cheese, with some of the region's finest seafood courtesy of Boston Chowder.
The event offers a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Spinners operation. With wine and food available in the clubhouse typically occupied by the Red Sox stars of tomorrow, fans will get a chance to explore the locker room and clubhouse the players call home each summer.
