A Most Unscientific Super Bowl Poll: Is Farmville For New Orleans?
I am sitting here laughing as I play my idiot games on Facebook. Farmville being my favorite. We exchange lovely little pretend gifts and there are also a number of Super Bowl items we can buy with our coins and the Farmville cash that at some time or another we all waste money on. It is Super Bowl season on Farmville and I dutifully bought helmets of each team, a Farmville trophy for the winner and a tailgating grill. This is totally whacked! What must be gifted are the flags of each team to blow in the fake wind and show the team your support.
I happen to like both teams (sorry, no Iggles green this go round) but to my surprise I have been inundated with New Orleans Saints' flags. Not one but at least 10 (along with other fun stuff). For the past several days I have yet to receive one Colts flag - which I would gladly fly at one of my two homes , log cabin or general store. I want a Colts' flag and cannot even buy it or request it, this is at the whim of the gifters, my somewhat unkown Facebook friends who apparently are Saints fans.
This is insane, and brings me to a few conclusions. One, of the 14+ million Farmville fans, my 30 or so are New Orleans fans. Two, I have a bunch of Eagles' fans on Facebook who are rooting for the underdog and probably hope they lose - Eagles fans can be so mean. Three, maybe almost all of Farmville is for the Saints . Four, I am just freakin' nuts for being upset that I do not have a Colts flag to fly on my pretend farm. Maybe there are just as many Colts fans on Farmville as Saints fans but they have yet to find me.
I am so excited because before the season I not only picked these two teams to go all the way but I also snagged footballs autographed (and authenticated) by each QB (and had one by Favre, just hedging my bets). In this week leading up to the Super Bowl if you are on Farmville on Zynga or Facebook, please look me up, friend me and send me a Colts' flag. I want to be fair and balanced - the Fox News of Farmville Sports. and if you are so inclined, a set of goal posts would also go a long way in helping my pretend farm, pretend mini me and pretend animals (I have yet to see any pretend people) prepare for the big day.
BTW - for those of you who follow my sports café, JJ Elephant, there will be a real party on Super Bowl Sunday to celebrate our 1st 6 months and Jeff's full recovery. I just better have a Colts' flag ready in case I have to present the Farmville Trophy to the Bull who represents Peyton. Yes, I will have Farmville up and running on the computer along with my grid pools!
