I Wouldn't Blame Rafa If He Did Go!
The headline of this says it all - I would not blame Rafa Benitez if he decided to walk away from the Liverpool job.
That's not to say I want him to go. As a Liverpool fan that has grown up having to hear stories about Liverpool's glorious past, Benitez has been the one manager that has given me some fond memories of supporting Liverpool.
There have beenĀ famous European nights when he has taken down the European giants of Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid and of course that triumph in 2005 and made us competitive in the league.

Throughout his reign he has been offered numerous jobs - most famously when Real Madrid came calling but he decided to stay - showing the great bond that he has with Liverpool.
Personally, I am surprised that he hasn't walked away already. Since George Gillett & Tom Hicks bought the club in 2007 he has had his position undermined by his job being offered behind his back to Jurgen Klinsmann.
Furthermore the lack of the promised transfer funds. This summer would be a prime example - promised a £20million NET spend, in reality he was allowed to spend £10,000. That figure will be even less now with the recent sales of Andrea Dossena and Andriy Voronin.
But, despite all that, he is still here. Fighting on and trying to mend a fractured Liverpool side that has been plagued by injuries all season. And with no backing to recruit reinforcements, Liverpool will be relying on the manager to perform yet another miracle.
I am sorry to say this, but I fear for Liverpool when he eventually leaves. If you think there are cracks now then wait until Benitez leaves and left with twoĀ idiots to appoint a manager.
And finally, look at Rafa Benitez's fortunes when he moves on and compare them to Liverpool's. We really don't know how much this man has done for Liverpool - and we will only know when he leaves!
