Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos is on top of the woman's MMA after her dominant victory over highly regarded Gina Carano in the first ever Strikeforce woman's title fight at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Santos. During a conference call for Strikeforce: Miami, Santos explained what it was like winning the belt.
"Regardless of being a women or not, a belt changes any athlete's life," Santos said. "The athlete's goal is to get a belt, I got the belt. Life has changed for the positive and I'm happy with it."

With a red target now painted on her back and a challenger already in the rear-view, Santos keeps a close eye on the up-and-coming competition and has zero intentions of losing her belt.
"I only train with men," Santos explained. "I usually hurt the women -- I'm definitely going to analyze all the girls from different divisions, up-and-down to see who's coming near me. I basically take each fight individually and look at whatever comes up."
Cyborg's next fight marks her first title defense against the 17-3 Marloes Coenen on Jan. 30. Coenen is coming off an armbar submission over Roxanne Modafferi at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Rogers and was an even 1-1 last year. "Rumina" will likely look to take this one to the ground where she has earned 12 submission out of her 17 total wins.
