Are the Boston Celtics a Championship Contender? Well we will find out over the course of these next three games coming up. There next three games are against championship caliber teams, starting with Orlando on Thursday. The Magic and the Celtics have split their first two meetings each winning on the road. Orlando won the first meeting 83-78, then the Celtics got their revenge on Christmas Day winning 86-77. If the Celtics are to defeat the Magic their going to have to take the paint away from Dwight Howard. Every game that I have watched Dwight Howard Play, When he takes control of the paint he is unstoppable. So the Celtics will have to contain him and control the paint. The Second game is against the young and uprising Atlanta Hawks on Friday Night. The Celtics have lost their first two meetings against the Hawks and are trying to avoid a season sweep to the Hawks. This Game will be a tough one for the Celtics, this will be the second of a back to back and the Hawks will be pretty pumped up for this game, they feel that they belong in the upper elite class in the NBA and why not their only a game behind the Celtics for 2nd place in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks will be up for this Game i am not sure if the Celtics will be. This game will be a tough one for the Celtics. Finally the Final Game of this stretch will be against the L.A Lakers. This will be the first time that the Celtics and Lakers will match up against each other, with the Lakers taking the season series last year 2-0. For the Lakers this will be their 7th game on a 8 game east coast road trip and right now they are 3-2. This will be a big game for both teams not Just because of the rivalry and the tradition, but for tiebreaker scenarios just in case both teams make it to the NBA Finals. I understand that we are only in January and there's still more Basketball to be played, but confidence is big and since the Boston Celtics just got Kevin Garnett back what batter way to get your swagger back then by having a great 3 game stretch here. We shall see how this 3 game set turns out. who knows Maybe we will look back at these 3 games and say to ourselves how this is what turned the Celtics into a Championship team.
