Brett Favre and Urban Meyer Walk Into a Bar...

…and can’t decide what they want to drink.  Who can blame them?  The bartender’s letting them sit there all night while they think about it. 

He might even bring them a few drinks, just to see if they want them, and then inevitably pour them out. 

Eventually, after a few days, one of them decides to go to another bar and have a drink, and the other goes back home and says he’ll be back in the spring.

Now, I usually don’t care about these things, but you can’t get away from it.  I usually like watching ESPN or reading Sports Illustrated, but now that football season is over, and until it starts back up, this is all we’ll hear about.

They’ll have somebody camped out at Farve’s house and at the airport in Hattiesburg.  They’ll have somebody scrutinizing Meyer’s every move and covering the Gators’ spring football for reasons other than football. 

Who can blame them?  We eat this stuff up.  We can’t wait to find out.  People who otherwise wouldn’t care about what either of these men do, are glued to their every move.

I only bring this up because just a few short years ago the aforementioned sports reporting agencies would talk about other sports in the football offseason. 

These days, however, people seem to be more interested in what athletes are doing off the field than on and I for one won’t stand for it.  I’m going to take a stand and...hang on, Favre just got on a plane…

So, my point is, if you see either one of these men in a bar, buy them a drink. 

If they can’t decide whether they want it, walk to a corner and repeatedly slam your head into the wall until it all goes away, and we’ll see them both next fall.
