Chicago Cubs Sign Chad Tracy To Minor League Deal
The Chicago Cubs made their second free agent signing of the day, and it's been a busy day in MLB overall on the Hot Stove.
The Cubs signed former Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Chad Tracy according to a report from espnchicago.com. The deal is worth just under $1 million, but that's assuming he makes the big league team. Some of his incentives include bonuses for the amount of plate appearances, as well as a possible $100,000 bonus if he gets the comeback player of the year award.
Tracy had an underwhelming year with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009 hitting only .237 with eight homers and 39 RBI. Tracy had his best year with Arizona in 2005. That year he hit .308 with 27 homers and 72 RBI.
