Manny Pacquiao Robbed Me Of My Credibility
I pride myself in my boxing predictions. I try to watch every fight I can. I compare styles, look at the weight the fight is being held at, look at the fighters history. I try to get every possible detail. How long training camp is, from who he's sparring with to what he ate that morning. So when someone ask's me what my pick is in a particular fight I have the proper information to make an educated guess.
But sometimes I'm not right (more times than not). So let me be honest here. I've picked Manny to lose every major fight since Eric Morales (with the exception of David Diaz and Oscar Larios). To Manny's credit his camp has chosen very difficult fights for him. The fight that really surprised me was with Oscar De La Hoya. I mean just moving up in weight alone was enough reason for me to pick ODLH. Then there was Hatton. I never liked Hatton at 147. I thought after Collazo beat him he should've stayed clear of that weight class. Goes to show how much a couple of pounds makes. (i know he Hatton won that fight).

Then came Miguel Cotto. A real 147 pounder. Strong, excellent boxer with a strong chin. Here is a fighter that would once and for all break Manny down. So I thought. Manny had other plans. Let me tell you my friends, what I witnessed that night was masterful. That's when I truly knew I had Manny all wrong. That night I came to the realization that Manny was the greatest. I would never doubt him again.
Then came the steroid allegations. At first, I thought okay Mayweather camp is hearing rumors they want Pac to test for roids then they'll fight. I figured Manny would agree to any testing (as any self respecting athlete would do) and clear his name. KOO. But no, that never happened. Negotiations fell apart, fight never happened and 40 mill went down the drain. Which leads me to believe that Manny is no better off without steroids than Margarito is without his plaster.
So now that I know Manny is or was on steroids I kinda wonder why I didn't figure it out before. I mean just by looking at his pictures from the last five years one would get the idea that something is going on. One thing is to gain muscle weight. But look at his head. His head has changed! Weird huh?
Which leads to my conclusion. Had I known Manny was on steroids I would have picked Manny to win many of his fights. Had I known he was on steroids I would have avoided many arguments as to why a boxer cannot gain 15 pounds and still beat an elite fighter. Flat out not possible! For had I known Manny was on steroids........
