Celtic Look To Kick on Against Hibs as Daunting February Looms
Tony Mowbray's Celtic will look to put pressure on Rangers tomorrow night as they face another must win game in the Scottish Premier League.
Celtic produced an excellent second half display against St. Johnstone on Sunday to win 4-1 at McDiarmid Park. They struggled early against the Perth outfit but were aided by an early second half red card to Graham Gartland.
Hibs will be an all together different threat. The Leith side are currently lying fourth in the league and on paper have a side more than strong enough to take on Celtic.
Strikers Anthony Stokes, Derek Riordan, and Colin Nish were all amongst the goals in Hibs clinical 5-1 mauling of Hamilton at Easter Road.
Celtic, who have been struck by a raft of injuries in recent weeks, also face losing two more players in club captain Stephen McManus and Dany Fox. The duo are linked with moves to Middlesbrough and Burnley respectively.
Celtic could be aided by the return of Ki-Sung Yong and the debuts of Jos Hooiveld and Thomas Rasmussen for the clash. Youngster Josh Thompson could keep his place in the team after an encouraging performance against St. Johnstone.
Celtic will view this game as a must win as they look to close the gap on rival Rangers, who are also in action at St. Mirren on Wednesday.
Probable Celtic lineup: Boruc, Hinkel, Thompson, Hooiveld, O'Dea, McGeady, Zhi, Crosas, McGinn, Samaras, Fortune.
Prediction: 4-2 Celtic.
