I will start off this article that I respect Brett Favre as an NFL quarterback in the sense that he will go down as one of the top QBs of all time , a Hall of Famer no doubt.
I just cant stand an athlete , in any sport, that is so egotistical that their attitudes when playing the game on or off the field is of its all about "ME".  For examples in Green Bay rumors of Brett Favre not helpping or teaching the young Aaron Rodgers (I can see why Favre wouldnt, but come on grow up).,..Retiring and unreting....then going to the Jets and really from what Ive read was not a great teammate to the Jets in the locker room and we saw how that ended up....Retiring and Unretiring...Retiring and Unretiring....then skipping all of Vikings training camp , knowing full well that Favre was going to join the team...Finally the head coach Brad Childress picks him up at the airport.
He did go on to have one of his best years as a quarterback...a few disgreements with the coach and possibly Adrian Peterson, but all in all a good season. As he played the NFC championship game I saw a guy who was wore down but ready to play.  Brett Faver and the Vikings started off hot but all day was on his back and / or was hit when throwing.  I got sick of all the Favre camera work and the Favre wife camera work...where was Brees wife at? ....and to see him grimacing and limping was worthy of an EMMY award, hopefully he gets it.
The poetic Justice came in the end....the Vikings having the ball in field goal position at the end of the 4th quarter with a mere 22 seconds on the clock.  It was 3rd down all Favre needed to do was get 5 yards, instead his EGO kicked in and the 19 year veteran , the "greatest" QB we have seen in our lifetime makes the rookie mistake of throwing across his body , across the field on the opposite end to his favorite target Sidney Rice.  All day he was beating cornerback Tracy Porter of the Saints, but not this time Porter picks off the football and its new life for the Saints!!  As I watched the replay...I saw open field for Favre to run and protect the ball and I also saw a different wide reciever on the sideline wide open 7-10 yards downfield for great field goal range and Vikings would move on to the Superbowl on the made field goal.  As I stated when an athlete has an EGO so big the stage has to be CENTER for him and Brett Favre in the end wanted it to be so.
Well his center stage is set...there will be another Brett Favre Watch....tune in August 31st for the dramatic unveling of .."will he unretire......."
