If Rubbing Is Racing, J.Gordon J.Johnson and M.Martin Need Some Rubbing

First of all let me just say!

Thank you NASCAR for the “let boys be boys” policy!

I still have doubts.

How far will NASCAR let this rubbing and bumping go?

How long before the “comfortable drivers” in the sport complain about the more aggressive racers?

If I was a betting man I would have to say, give it about ten races, specially if the Hendrick camp is on the receiving end of the rubbing.

One only needs to remember Martinsville and Jeff Gordon’s aggravation with Juan Pablo Montoya because No. 42 got tired of being crowded and blocked, so Juan gave him a continuous rub and bump until he got out of the way.

In the same race Montoya challenged and passed Jimmie Johnson for the lead.

Jeff Gordon was not a happy camper and Chad Knaus told JJ to stay away from Juan.

I took that as a team saying “I don’t want to race, just let me drive comfortably and let me do what I want because I’ve earner it! We have won many championships”

Ok! maybe everyone should move out of the way and just let them be the show.

If you think I’m the only one who thinks this way , you would be wrong, the post race broadcasters said they had a real problem with drivers complaining about being raced.

Folks, this new policy could help the other teams challenge the three amigos Jeff, Jimmie and Mark.

The only way to beat those teams is to pound them when they try to defend a position or when they try to slow down momentum.

If you’re a race fan who looks beyond the pretty car and the cute driver, you know those Hendrick folks are very good at that.

Agree?

To equalize those powerful Hendrick cars you got to forget who is driving them , forget about the respect factor, and get them out of the way if they’re trying to block or slow you down.

This was evident in the first race of the chase, respect cost Earnharrdt-Ganassi Racing a win (in my humble opinion) as No. 42 was going to the front with clearly the fastest car, No. 5 slowed his momentum, out of what I presumed was respect for Mark Martin, Juan just pulled up and lost the win and the second spot.

If drivers Kyle Busch or Danny Hamlin would have been behind the No. 5 , Martin would have been “respectfully” moved out of the way , you can bet the house on that.

Respect might of cost Juan Pablo Montoya, his team and the owners a win.

Can we agree on this?

If I was an owner, and it costs me about 300 or 400 thousands dollars to get my car to a race, and my driver tells me he didn’t move a car out of the way who was blocking us because he had so much respect for the driver, I’m going to tell him: Good, now good bye and go ask that driver you respect so much to give you a job”

Look folks , I’m not saying the 2010 NASCAR season should turn into a demolition derby, but if fans are looking for different results than the Hendrick cars taking the top spots week in and week out, the other teams need to race them aggressively.

Actually very aggressively, no matter how many championships they got or how long they been racing.

As a fan I want to see some racing, some rubbing and bumping, don’t you?

I give it about ten races before the “comfortable teams” start complaining about being raced too hard.

I hope NASCAR does not “respect” the wishes of the elite teams who don’t like the rubbing is racing concept.

Everyone in NASCAR says is all about the fans!

I hope they remember that.

As always, this is just my opinion and from what I understand everybody has one and I thank god for that.
