The Lakers Love Winning 16 Games More Than They Love Playing 82

Javier JimenezJan 23, 2010

Let's be honest, if the Lakers win this years NBA Finals, who will bring up them losing twice to the Cavaliers? or Kobe's shooting percentageĀ lately that hasĀ reminded us of him airballing freethrows back in 1996? Nobody will. It's plain and simple.

Cleveland fans will not only have to look forward to next year butĀ they will also have one huge question mark haunting them thru the summer, is LeBronĀ staying?

CelticĀ fans will be disapointed, and that means one more year added to their aging team.

In theĀ Western ConferenceĀ the only teams that ESPN analysts predict of having a chance to beat theĀ Lakers are theĀ Spurs and the Nuggets. And you know what I have to say to that?

The Denver Nuggets thug attitude only works once. It's like when a bully ask you for your lunch money and you say "no" and heĀ simply walksĀ away. TheĀ Lakers let them know last year that JR Smiths celebrating antics weren't enough to bring them down, and if they face them once again this year, there won't be anything to intimidate them mentally.

The San Antonio SpursĀ isĀ aĀ team that just doesn't have enough to win a 7 game series.Ā WhenĀ Greg PopovichĀ is resting the star of the past championshipĀ teams on back to back games you know he's getting old. I was scared of the lakers facing Tim Duncan when he was makingĀ gnome commericials withĀ David Robinson but not anymore.

While other teams worry about making changes to theirĀ roster, the LakersĀ simplyĀ enjoyĀ themselves. Lamar went Kardashian on us. Pau making CSI appearances while being "injured". Houston said "We're takingĀ Ariza" and theĀ Lakers nonchalantly said "ok and we can sign Ron Ron".

The funny thing is what theĀ Lakers are looking forward to right now. Its not theĀ finals, not even the playoffs, its watching Shannon Brown dunk in theĀ dunkĀ contest.

TheĀ Lakers look at the rest of the NBA as I look at people thatĀ challenge meĀ inĀ Madden. I've beaten youĀ before, so as you practice I'm going to go make myself a snack. But when it comes to when itĀ counts guess what? I'mĀ playing my hardest.

The Lakers have the best record in the NBA, and if they playoffs begun today they would have home court throughout them.

So people frantically saying how they are struggling, or doubting their toughness, and interrogating Kobe about his recent struggles have no reason to doubt them. Because looking at numbers, they have one less loss than the Cavaliers, and 9 less than they team that trails behind them in their division.

Cavalier fans, the Lakers are 3-5 in the Kobe-Jackson eraĀ in the regular season playing against the team they go on and win the championship against.Ā So please, don't read too much into that.

I should revise my introduction.

Let's be honest,Ā WHEN the Lakers win this years NBA Finals, who will bring up them losing twice to the Cavaliers?
