An Open Letter To The NFL!!

             As a lifelong fan of the NFL I have to begin with the question " What are you people thinking?" Are you kidding me? In these tough economic times you millionaires can't come to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement? I love the league as much as anyone in the world, but at the same time I am a realist. A work stoppage would be disastrous. Whether you are a Browns fan as I am, or a Steelers fan, a Cowboys fan, or a fan of any team in the league, we the fans are all in this together. Tell the owners and players alike, get in a room, bargain in good faith, and come up with a plan so you don't come out of this looking like greedy pigs.  I don't pretend to know all the issues that are on the table, but it doesn't matter. If there is a work stoppage it will look like greed no matter what the issues are. Look at what happened to baseball and let that heed the warning. Baseball was the national past time of our country, and it could not withstand a work stoppage. 

            Owners, and players as a fan of your sport I ask you to please consider these facts: 1. The rate at which job loss in this country is growing everyday. How often do you hear in the news that another company is laying off thousands. Look at Detroit and the auto industry for one example. 2. How many people in this country are putting their children to bed hungry because they have been forced to take a pay cut? Everyone knows at least one person who was forced to cut their salary in order to keep their jobs. 3. Insurance for retired players. Are you guys kidding me? If it weren't for the older players you would have no industry. Respect your history like the fans do and BOTH sides should be giving to these guys. 4. DO NOT INSULT YOUR COSTUMERS!! For 3 hours every Sunday and Monday night fans everywhere gather to forget their problems and enjoy what you do, if you are not there to do it people WILL find something else to do. Will we miss NFL football? Sure. Will life go on? YES! 

             In closing, I'd just like to say C"MON get in the real world and get out of the fantasy world. Life will go on without pro football. Wives everywhere will thank you, and you will lose millions of dollars. Dollars you can never make up. You people have been made very wealthy from your fans. If you choose to not listen to their voice the next time you take the field allot of their voices won't be there to hear.
