Lebron James Will Be a True King Playing In Manhattan
Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown said this week that he hopes that Cavaliers basketball icon Lebron James remains in āThe Forest Cityā after this season.
James, 25, the 2009 NBA Most Valuable Player who was born and raised near Cleveland in Akron, Ohio, will be a free agent this summer and many analysts have speculated that the āChosen Oneā may opt to sign a long-term contract with an organization located in a larger market.
āLooking at the fact that this is a business, I put that first,ā said Brown, 73, a three-time NFL MVP and eight-time First-Team All-Pro selection during his nine-year career with the Browns.

āBut having said that, I would love to see him be here. I think itās a terrific marriage. He does so much for this city and I think that he has an owner (Dan Gilbert) that tries to do everything he can. When you have an owner who is trying to do the best he can do and a player, itās a terrific set of circumstances. But the business is the business.ā
James, currently in his seventh pro season with the Cavs since that franchise selected him out of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School with the first overall pick in the 2003 draft, is arguably one of the greatest players in NBA history already.
Brown, who Cleveland chose out of Syracuse University with the sixth selection in the 1957 NFL Draft, was named by The Sporting News as the greatest football player ever.
Brown dominated the gridiron and James is absolutely overpowering the competition on the hardwood.
However, both Brown and James transcended/transcend their respective sports and they are simply two of the greatest overall athletes that the United States has ever produced.
As a premier athlete for the Orange, Brown also excelled in baseball, track and lacrosse.
Brown lettered on Syracuseās track team and he led the hoops squad in scoring by averaging 15 points a contest.
Most impressively, Brown was a first-team All-American in lacrosse who was eventually enshrined into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame on the campus of Johns Hopkins University in 1983.
James is a surreal physical specimen who would inevitably flourish in any sport he desired to.
In his sophomore year of high school, James was nominated as a first-team All-State wide receiver in football-rich Ohio.
At 6'8", 250 pounds of freakish muscle and astonishing athleticism, James easily could have pursued a career in the NFL if that was the route he chose to follow.
Fortunately for hoops fans, there is zero indication that James is mulling a career on the gridiron.
āKing Jamesā wants to continue to amass incredible wealth and become a championship-winning basketball player.
It truly is charming and storybook that an individual of Jamesā caliber is performing for his hometown team.
The Cavaliers have a very solid nucleus of players surrounding James and they have a legitimate chance to capture their first ever Larry OāBrien Championship Trophy this June.
Nevertheless, James, a three-time NBA First Team selection, should decide to permanently showcase his skills at āThe Worldās Most Famous Arena,ā Madison Square Garden.
Lebron James abilities on the court are so astronomical that any team that he suits up for is virtually assured to win a minimum of 50 games a season.
As he nears his professional prime, James will soon be capable of winning crowns essentially on his lonesome provided that he is encircled by an adequate supporting cast.
Among others, James presently has endorsement contracts with Nike, Sprite, Glaceau, Bubblicious, Upper Deck, and State Farm and he has publicly expressed his desire to become a billionaire.
āKing Jamesā is royalty in Cleveland.
In Manhattan, Lebron James would be the biggest sports attraction in the entire world.
As Brown aptly said, āthe business is the business.ā
Considering both his professional and financial aspirations, Lebron James needs to become a member of the beleaguered New York Knicks.
Within a decade in Gotham, James will have championship rings on his fingers and he will make wealthy New Yorkers blush with envy at his startling affluence.
āThis is a business. I put that first.ā
