Baylor Football: Where Will the Bears Figure in the 2010 Big 12 Mix?
If Art Briles’ never-give-up Bears can have and maintain a healthy roster in 2010, Baylor will absolutely have a lot to say in terms of placement in the Big 12 standings.
Granted, almost year-in and year-out, Baylor’s green and gold bunch end the season in the cellar of the Big 12 Conference.
But with a rejuvenated and healthy team entering the 2010 season, Briles and the Bears are bound for a remarkable run in one of college football’s most competitive conferences.
Give Briles’ Bears a full season with Robert Griffin as the team’s play caller, and the NCAA sports world may very well end up being painted Baylor green.
Once again, Baylor will be entering next season underrated and under the radar.
Not that that’s bad, especially after the 2009 season marred the Bears with numerous injuries.
But despite the ’09 shortcomings, Baylor battled back time and time again and was in a fight—for at least the first three quarters of play—in many games that most people expected the Bears to be slaughtered in.
Regardless, 2010 will ring in a new season and a new set of circumstances; and hopefully with a returning top-notch coaching crew, a great line (on both sides of the ball), superb special teams, inspired defense, and sophomore sensation Griffin, the Bears will be on their way to success.
There are still a lot of question marks as Baylor begins to contemplate next year’s football season, but Briles and his staff has already begun taking steps in the right direction with some major signings.
The Baylor Bears have a bright future ahead of them in NCAA Football, and it finally appears as though Briles and company will be breaking through the Big 12 cellar next season…
