Early 2010 Fantasy Football QB Rankings

Ryan LesterJan 19, 2010

I know we haven’t declared a Super Bowl winner, but it’s never too early to look at next year. Here’s a look at early 2010 fantasy football QB rankings.

1.  Aaron Rodgers – His rushing totals put him on top.

2.  Drew Brees – Brees is playing at a very high level.

3.  Peyton Manning – Only the Colts’ success can slow him down.

4.  Philip Rivers – Truly his team. So many big weapons.

5.  Tom Brady – This is the year he supposed to be fully recovered from the knee injury. Scary. Wes Welker’s status has him down at five.

6.  Tony Romo – Love him or hate him, he puts up numbers.

7.  Matt Schaub – If Owen Daniels is healthy, look out.

8.  Brett Favre – If he returns, he should have another fine season with his assortment of weapons.

9.  Ben Roethlisberger – Pittsburgh has become a passing team and Big Ben has plenty of weapons.

10.  Donovan McNabb – If he’s back in Philly with his young skill position players, McNabb should be a top 10 QB.

11.  Kurt Warner – Another player whose return is in question. If he comes back, he’s still a fantasy starter.

12.  Eli Manning – The Giants’ young playmakers made great strides in 2009 and should be even better next year.

13.  Jay Cutler – I expect the Bears will get more weapons for Cutler.

14.  Matt Ryan – A bounce-back year is in order.

15.  Alex Smith – Smith took the job and ran with it. He should have the job the whole offseason and have Michael Crabtree along with him.

16.  Carson Palmer – Gone are the days of Palmer being a fantasy starter. He’s a great backup though.

17.  Joe Flacco – All he needs are some more weapons in the passing game.

18.  Vince Young – His rushing ability as well as his improved passing game make him a nice fantasy backup.

19.  Matt Hasselbeck – We’ll see if Pete Carroll can get Hasselbeck fantasy relevant again. Of course, he’ll have to stay healthy.

20.  Kyle Orton – If they don’t bring Brandon Marshall back, he won’t be on this list.
