Forget Arsenal & Manchester United, Chelsea Will Win the Premier League
As you can see from the picture, Chelsea were phenomenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, smashing seven goals past a lifeless Sunderland side; an achievement, it must be noted, made without star players Didier Drogba and Michael Essien.
And such a result is not necessarily reason why the Blues will win the race for the 2009/10 Premier League title, but rather, adds to the reason for the West London club winning the title.
Unlike both current champions Manchester United, and the exciting, in-form Arsenal, Chelsea are almost perfect when at their best under the guidance of manager Carlo Ancelotti.
When it comes to defence, they have a tight and disciplined backline, with a fully concentrated back four that always keep their positioning correct; a vital factor in making sure opposition attacks are neutralised efficiently.
Also, they have brilliant creativity in midfield, with the likes of Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack picking out superb defence-splitting passes, sucking players in and opening up space for teammates to exploit, as well as the players out wide delivering pinpoint crosses into the box.
And of course, when you have midfielders who work so effectively with the attackers, it's not going to be the hardest task against even some of the top opposition defenders.
So when you have the likes of Ballack who can deliver brilliant through balls, it's not difficult for a player with the calibre of Nicolas Anelka to finish with perfection; brilliant forwards (Didier Drogba being the other), yet another reason why Chelsea are so good at the moment.
Such a result like the 7-2 demolishing of Sunderland at the Bridge breeds confidence in the players, meaning less nerves, more optimism and belief, and consequently better performances.
Arsenal , for all their attacking brilliance and beautiful creativity in the centre of the park, do not have the tight defensive unit of Chelsea and against strong opposition can sometimes be prone to things like efficient counter-attacks.
Manchester United simply lack belief at the moment, and despite their recent 3-0 win over Burnley at Old Trafford, are becoming too scared of making mistakes against big opposition; such nerves have cost the Red Devils dearly and has led to some sloppy defensive errors.
The Blues on the other hand do not currently have these errors of the sides mentioned above. And if they keep that going, it's then a fact that Chelsea will win the Premier League title race this season.
