Gilbert Arenas: Poster Child For Total Lack Of Good Judgement?

Okay, this one is not hard to figure out.  Gilbert Arenas will go to jail.  For how long is anyone's guess.

Personally, I'm tired of seeing the same mistakes and transgressions made by professional athletes that clearly believe they are above any repercussion.

Arenas' judgment skills are so lacking that he should be made an example of, and I predict he will be.

New York City made an example out of Plaxico Burress, and we should be led to believe that Arenas will suffer the same fate of his fellow professional. I use the term professional loosely here.

Where or when did Arenas think that bringing unlicensed firearms into a work facility was okay?  If you or I did the same thing, we would be fired immediately and probably thrown in jail too.  With workplace violence a harsh reality these days, its troubling that a supposed professional in his field ignored what would seem to be fairly obvious to us.

Don't bring your pistols to work dude.  And really don't flash them in front of other teammates.  And don't keep them in your locker.  Lastly, don't lie to us and tell us a cock and bull story about why you had them.  Man up Brah!

I could see the look on my vice president's face as I walk in to his office Monday and brandishing a Glock.  Its okay, I would say, it not loaded so don't worry.

I guess the question we all have to ask is "why did Arenas think that is was necessary to bring a weapon, or four, to his workplace".  I wonder how Arenas would react if someone brought a gun to one of his kid's schools.  ( Don't know if he has kids or not, but painting a picture here)

This is a troubling matter, and I'm not giving Arenas any rope on this one.  In order to make these types of situations go away, or at very least minimize them, we need another example.

Plaxico was the first to realize he wasn't bulletproof, literally.  And now my friend, Gilbert you will be held accountable.  Hopefully you can use this to learn the value of good judgement, and then actually practice some.
