Could UFN 21 Be Some Of The Best Free MMA Ever!!

With all the talk over the last few months of weak UFC cards, the planned upcoming cards from the UFC are seemingly silencing any naysayers. Despite the vocal MMA communities thoughts, I have actually been quite impressed with how the UFC has handled, the injuries, suspensions and wannabe actors.

UFC 107 and UFC 108 actually turned out to be quite entertaining cards with some great fights. For those that didn't shell out the hard cash, I think most should now admit that they were wrong to criticize the UFC. No other promotion could have handled the depth of injuries that UFC 108 sustained, any other promotion probably would have pulled the event. My colleague Spencer Kyte has written a great piece on this issue so I urge you to read.

With all the above being said and behind us we are now looking forward to whats to come. There are some great events in the diary, and the UFC fan is once again set to be spoilt by the UFC who seem to want to make up for the previous weaker cards. In particular I want to talk about UFN 21. In my mind we could be in for some great fights for the UFC's debut on Versus and possibly some of the best free MMA ever.

Confirmed for March 21st by the UFC is;

Brandon Vera vs Jon Jones

Junior Dos Santos vs Gabriel Gonzaga

Anthony Johnson vs John Howard

Eliot Marshal vs Vladimir Matyushenko

rumored also to be on the event is;

Brendan Shaub vs Chase Gormley

Stefan Struve vs Roy Nelson

Spencer Fisher vs Duane Ludwig

The UFC is clearly pulling out all the stops here for its debut on Versus. This card is looking ridiculously stacked and is boarding on PPV quality and it keeps getting better. So I invite you all to sit back and enjoy this card whilst also acknowledging the fact that you may have been wrong to criticize the UFC during the hard last few months.

I think this is a great little gift from the UFC, saying "hey ok we've put on some weaker shows, but cut us some slack, heres a stacked free night of mma to make up for it". At least thats how I imagine it in my own head!!

Whats your thoughts and whos your picks?
