Tennessee Conducting Another Seminar In How NOT To Hire A Head Coach

Mike Hamilton is now officially the dumbest A.D. in all of college football, and that, my friends, is saying a lot. The only way Hamilton could appear even more stupid would be to offer Charlie Weis a 12 year contract for six million a year.

After being turned down by more people than the pimply faced nerd at the Sadie Hawkins dance, it appeared he had finally done something safe and smart. Bring home a former Vol, David Cutcliffe, who had great success at Tennessee, who could hold onto remaining recruits and calm the fears of the Vol nation with someone they all knew.

But now he's ruined that by insisting that Cutcliffe take the crappy leftovers that Kiffin didn't want and love anymore.

Are you insane Hamilton? You choose to draw a line in the sand with your fifth choice, and a man that walked when Ole Miss told him to make changes in his staff or be fired. You idiot, this is clearly a man who doesn't take being threatened well, and you of all people should know that.

So now you've had a coach from Duke, 5-7 Duke, on your list of people who'd rather stay there than work with you. You are driving Tennessee football not to Cutcliffe, but off the cliff. Any chance you had of saving your job has now disintegrate into dust.

Tennessee right now just stinks of desperation. You're going to wind up paying some clown 3.5 million dollars to come here and make Kiffin and Fulmer look like football coaching Gods.

Wait, you're turning to Derek Dooley? You want to give the reigns of an SEC powerhouse to a guy who can't achieve a winning record at Louisiana Tech? And now your latest press release is even backing off from him—to who else?

Hey Hamilton, Bobby Bowden wanted to coach another year, why not bring him in for a season while you mull over some more choices. Hey, Dennis Franchione is still looking for a job, why not give him a ring? And we all know Bobby Petrino would leave his wife and kids for enough money and a big enough contract.

Is there anything at this point you could do that would be any worse than what you've already done?
