Cribbs and Thomas Named To AP All-Pro Team
I would like to start this article out by congratulating Josh Cribbs and Joe Thomas. These two great players were named to the AP All-Pro Team for their exceptional performance. Also before we break down the Browns nominee's, I would like to mention that Lawrence Vickers was namedĀ 4th in voting for best FB in the league behind Leonard Weaver, Philadelphia, Le'Ron McClain, Baltimore, and Lousaka Polite, Miami. I feel that if we run the ball the next season, the same way we did our last four games this season, Vickers could get the nod from the AP next year.
Josh Cribbs was named the AP's Top Special Teams Player in the league. According to ESPN, they were shocked he was not a unanimous vote. Chris Johnson from Tennessee, was the AP's only unanimous vote. Although, Johnson deserves that recognition, can anyone argue as to why Cribbs was not a unanimous choice? I say, not a snowball's chance in hell.Ā If we look deeper into the 2009 season, let's take a look at what #16 did.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap šø
Josh had 56 Kick Returns for 1542 yards and 3 TD'sĀ for an average of 27.5 yards a return. He also had 38 Punt returns for 452 yards and 1 TD for an average of 11.89 yards a return. Not to mention his 9 Special Teams tackles, his 381 yards rushing with a TD and a 6.9 yards a carry. Josh Cribbs is just not Special Teams, he is SPECIAL!
With Josh Cribbs newest accolade earned, this could spell disaster for the Cleveland Browns Organization. Not because we are doomed, but Mike Holmgren will have to help pry open Randy Lerner's wallet. You can bet the farm that Cribbs and his agents are salivating over this honor... I would. It is now time for Cleveland, to quote my late father a die hard Browns fan, To Sh!t or get off the pot. This honor will now cost Cleveland. Now yes, we can all speculate and say weĀ could get a 1st Round pick. Maybe your right, but whether it's with the Browns or any other team in the NFL,Ā "Pay the Man" according to Deion Sanders, will be "The Paid Man"!Ā There is no way now I see Cribbs stepping foot on the field without a new contract.Ā The Browns wanted to keep waiting and putting Cribbs off, now it will cost them. They should have renegotiated when they had the chance.
Now Joe Thomas, our unsung hero deserves his proper recognition. He finished 2nd in voting at Left Tackle with 18 votes. He was behind Ryan Clady of Denver with 30 votes. Joe hasĀ shown every year he has been in the league how dominate he is. A lot can be said, when in your first 3 years, you have 3 Pro Bowl selections. Now he can add APĀ All-Pro to his list. Congratulations Joe, well deserved.
As Browns fans it's for certain two things. The first is, if we plan on keeping Joe, he will continueĀ earn and deserve his pay.Ā HeĀ and his agents will demand more moneyĀ after his contract is up. The second, if we have any aspirations of keeping and making Cribbs happy, he will cost a pretty penny also. Mr. Lerner, newsflash, pay the men that performs for you. I have a bad feeling if you don't, you will have some pissed off fans. It's not to often you have one player let alone two, say how much they love playing here. Pay Cribbs, pay him because he earned it. Mr. Lerner, you've made a living paying players a highĀ price for littleĀ production. Just look at Quinn and Anderson's contracts. Pay the men that put bodies in the Stadium on Sunday's, and cut your loses for the one's that don't.
In closing, way to go Josh and Joe. You two men are awesome and deserve the recognition. Go play hard andĀ continue to represent the Browns well. A little side note. For all the Steeler fans, not one Steeler was named to theĀ 1st team AP All-Pro Team. HAHAHAHAHA! How can you be the reigningĀ champs and have no one selected. The answer, who cares the Steelers suck! GO BROWNS!Ā
