Money In The Bank Key to Young Talents' Success

James ThorntonJan 14, 2010

For the past few months, I've been watching the WWE's Raw, Smackdown, ECW, and Superstars and like every other wrestling fan, I've noticed the misuse of a lot of young talent. It's no secret that WWE, much like TNA, refuses to properly utilize much of their younger talent.

I've noticed that many writers here on B/R, myself included, have made suggestions that WWE should use ECW as the platform to push younger talent into the main event status.

To me, it is still a good idea, but then I realized that the WWE has something besides ECW, that could not only help push one superstar into the main event picture, but also potentially push any other superstar involved in it, Money In The Bank.

As many of you know, the Money In The Bank match was the brainchild of Chris Jericho and the match is pretty simple.

A collective of six or sometimes nine superstars are put into one ladder match with the prize being a contract that guarantees the winner a WWE, World Heavyweight, or ECW Title shot any time, any place.

Ever since it's creation, the Money In The Bank match has been a popular staple in Wrestlemania. So far, there have been five MITB matches, with each of the winners, with the exception of Mr. Kennedy, going on to win a heavyweight title.

Now, as great as MITB is, the problem with it is that most of the superstars that have been involved in this match are already established main event talent.

If WWE were to quit putting already main event superstars in the match and make the match exclusive to young, mid-card talent that have yet to win a heavyweight title, they will then have created a great way to elevate the young talent.

Like most of you guys, I'm tired of seeing guys like MVP, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, and Shelton Benjamin end up being stuck in mid-card hell. If anyone from WWE visits this site, I plead to you, make this happen.

WWE has created a great tool and if they use it right, they will have done something that will help out not only the business, but the young talent that they continually, pardon my French, piss on.
