Who's No. 1 Now? Kentucky and Texas Fight for Top Spot in BR Top 25

A picture is supposed to say 1,000 words, but in this case, the one to the right needs to say just six, "Texas is the new top dog."

After weeks of slowly catching Kansas in the Bleacher Report Top 25, the Longhorns have finally shot past the Jayhawks after Kansas dropped its first game of the season on the road against a depleted Tennessee team.

With the Rock Chalk loss, only two undefeated teams remain, which leaves the top spot of the poll up for grabs. National Featured Columnist Jonathan Lintner broke down Texas and Kentucky's resumes which then made it obvious who has the rightful claim at being on top of the college basketball world.

A handful of voters still ranked Kentucky No. 1, but neither Texas nor Kentucky found a home lower than second on anyone's ballot.

With the chaos of the past week (16 of 25 ranked teams lost during the past week) the rest of the ballot suffered a severe shake up.

The one-loss teams, Villanova, Syracuse, Kansas, and Purdue all laid claim to the third spot, but generally, the 'Cuse, who didn't lose this week, and KU received the most support.

Further down the poll, Tennessee and Pittsburgh made hard charges up the rankings because of unblemished weeks. That win over No. 1 Kansas also helped the Volunteers a bit.

The bottom of the poll also tightened up. A week after 48 teams received at least one vote, only 42 teams garnered a vote this week despite having four more voters this time around.
