Wizards Should Trade For Both Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince

brandon LamJan 10, 2010

What was suppose to be an exciting season and many expectations expected of the Washington Wizards has been a frustrating season so far.Their best player Gilbert Arenas, who signed a $111 million dollar contract may have played his last game as a Washington Wizard.Flip Saunders who Washington hired in the off season, has not got the best out his players and is still searching for answers in his rotation. The players they acquired this off-season Mike Miller, Randy Foye, Fabricio Oberto has not really helped as much as Ernie Grunfeld Washington Wizards general manager, thought they would when he traded for them this off season. To add insult to injury, Their long time owner Abe Pollin passed away this season.

Washington's big 3 of Arenas, Caron Butler, Antwan Jamison probably will be broken up and the Wizards will have to start over from scratch. The most obvious guy to trade away would be Butler, because his numbers under Saunders offensive hasn't been consistent and he isn't playing like he is a two time all star. When you think of all the 32 teams in the league, that you could trade butler the best possibility would be the Detroit Pistons.

The Wizards could offer Detroit Caron Butler, Mike Miller, Jarvis Crittenton in exchange for Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince. Detroit would save 12 million in this deal,  and Washington would get back two very good veterans who can play and can help them out in various areas.

People would say ''well why would Detroit do it? Detroit is in rebuilding mode, they have young talented guys on their team and you can replace Hamilton and Prince. Ben Gordon was brought in this off season, and you cant really play him and Hamilton on the floor together. Also, would you rather keep the 31 year old Hamilton or the 26 year old Gordon? With Prince, Austin Daye has played solid for them this season, and with more playing time he can be effective.

The February deadline will be interesting, I'm sure both of these teams will be active.
