Baylor Bears Open Big 12 Play with Blowout Victory over Oklahoma Sooners
It’s been 30 straight games since the Baylor Bears basketball team last beat the Oklahoma Sooners.
That all changed on Saturday evening at the Ferrell Center, as Scott Drew’s deep and talented green and gold hoops team destroyed the visiting Sooners 91-60 in OU’s first visit to Waco this season.
Hopefully, Saturday’s 31-point BU win will help to rewrite the books on the prior 31 matchups between these two squads, with the Bears taking the latest game in a blowout victory in the Lone Star State.

With the latest W, the Bears improve to 13-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
One thing is certain: that awful BU skid against the Sooners is now history, and the Bears have begun a win streak of their own against conference rival Oklahoma.
LaceDarius Dunn led BU in scoring on Saturday evening with 28 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
Also contributing in a major way for the home team was Tweety Carter with 18 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, and transfer star Ekpe Udoh with 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven blocks.
Where will they go from here?
Who knows, but one thing remains a fact, regardless of the rest of the sports world continually overlooking Drew’s superb team: these Bears deserve to be getting top-25 attention, and I personally believe this is one of the best Baylor basketball teams I have ever seen hit the hardwood.
And it’s the Bears first win against Oklahoma in Waco since 1954.
Sic 'em Bears!!!
