Is Oregon State's Loss To Seattle The Worst Loss in Pac-10 History?
Let me start by saying that I like Craig Robinson and I believe he'll bring the Beavs basketball team back to a respectable level someday (most likely right before he leaves OSU for a much better job) and also that I am a Duck.
Now that we have that out of the way; what the heck happened in Corvallis last night? The Beavs lost to Seattle University by a final score of 99-48. That's a 51-point drubbing! How is it possible for a Pac-10 team to lose to a provisional Division I school by more points than they were even able to muster up themselves?
On OSUBeavers.com the article about this game is titled, "Oregon State Stopped by Seattle". Stopped? It appears that Oregon State never even started their tractors. You can't stop something that never got started. Did I mention that the game was in Corvallis ? I usually hate using text acronyms, but in this particular circumstance it somehow feels so right...LMFAO @ THE BEAVS.
Is this the worst loss in Pac-10 history? I won't pretend to have looked back through all of the basketball games ever played by Pac-10 schools, but I can't recall a worse loss during my lifetime. For a Pac-10 basketball team to lose at home to a school that is in its first year in D1 and whose record won't even be counted for another couple of seasons, is the most pathetic, sad, disgraceful and yet somehow one of the most satisfying things I have ever witnessed since I started watching basketball some three decades ago.
I'd like to personally thank Seattle U for providing me with such joy. It doesn't quite make up for the Ducks brutal Rose Bowl appearance last week, but it sure doesn't hurt!
