Calling All Patriotic NASCAR Fans: Our Friends in Uniform Need You!

Attention all patriotic, flag-waving, military-supporting NASCAR fans, drivers, and teams.  Lt. Colonel Brett Sylvia and his troops need YOU.

Lt. Colonel Sylvia has just been deployed to Camp Eggers in Kabul, Afghanistan for 22 months.  Sylvia will be leading his battalion of men and women in the Army in a NATO mission promoting economic independence in Afghanistan.

Lt. Colonel Sylvia will be away from home, defending our freedom for the next two years, which is a long time to be away from friends and family, as well as his passion, that of NASCAR racing.  And he is not alone, as the men and women he is serving with and leading into their mission are all in the same boat, away from home and missing their racing fix.

Most of Lt. Colonel Sylvia's troops love stock car racing as much as he does and are very sad to be away from their NASCAR.  In an effort to keep up their morale, the friends and family of Lt. Colonel Sylvia are asking NASCAR fans across the nation to support them by sharing the passion.

Here are some suggestions for what NASCAR fans, drivers, and teams can send to Lt. Colonel Sylvia and his troops to help them stay connected with their stock car racing passion:

*Autographed hero cards

*Any sponsor giveaways that are NASCAR related

*Cards and letters of support

*Anything racing-related that you are willing to share—these can be used for morale give aways

*DVDs, particularly of racing

*Hats, hats, and hats, as well as bandannas, to cope with the sun and heat

*T-shirts, especially NASCAR-themed

*Wrapped lightweight candies or non-perishable snacks
