8. New England Patriots 2005

7. Saint Louis Rams 2000

6. New York Giants 2008

5. New England Patriots 2002

This was hard putting this New England Patriots team above the 08 Giants. Both teams were big underdogs. Both games had memorable moments in the final 2 min of the game, and both had unproven quarterbacks come into their own. What the 2008 Giants did not have however was 9/11. It was only fitting that the Patriots would win the Super Bowl that followed one of the biggest disasters in American history. It was an excellent game, and a story tha was bigger then football itself.

4. Indianapolis Colts 2007

This was the year that Payton Manning could finally get the monkey off his back. He finally got some hardware to back up his argument that he was the best quarterback. This team dominated the whole regular season, and finally beat the New England Patriots in the post season. They were favorites to win against Chicago, but all around a very good season, and great team.

3. Baltimore Ravens 2001

This team proved that it is defense that wins championships. They slaughtered the Giants in the Super Bowl and kicked off a decade of defensive teams that dominated. This team could beat most any team put on the field on this list, and rightfully deserves to be near the top.

2. 2004 New England Patriots

This was the first year the Patriots went 14-2 in the regular season. The regular season was full of dramatic wins, and stories. loosing to the Bills in the opener 31-0 then beating them the last game of the season 31-0. Intentionally causing a safety against the Broncos to get the ball back and win the game. Overtime win against the Texans, and a defensive struggle against the Browns that ended with a 9-3 win. Not to mention the last second field goal victory against to Panthers in the Super Bowl. What a great season for a great team.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers 2009

This was the picture perfect example of how defense wins Championships. This team was souly based on nitty gritty play of defense and running game. One of the best Super bowl games of the decade. This team had the hardest schedule in the regular season, and still put up an impressive 12-4 record. Once playoff time came around people new they could beat anyone in the league, and they did en route to their second super bowl of the decade, and proving their quarterback Ben Rothlesburger is one of the elite in the league.
