UCFAthletics.com's John Denton sat down with Coach O'Leary  a few days ago to discuss a wide range of topics, from the offensive line to the best moment of 2009. Here are the  best quotes from the interview:

On the St. Petersburg Bowl loss vs. Rutgers

"It will be with me until January 10 until the players get back. I've been through the game four times already and I grade every play and grade both sides of the ball. When I saw the game we basically shot ourselves in the foot."

On the Offensive Line

"I'm just really disappointed in the consistency of our offensive line. That was the game right there, because we didn't do much of anything with the run or pass (with the offensive line). It's hard to call a game when you can't establish anything in the run game. And in the passing game, Brett (Hodges) has had better days, but there was a lot of pressure on him all day. Brett didn't play his best game, but he wasn't helped much either."

On recruiting

"I think we need to upgrade our offensive line recruiting. We have five players verbally committed now on the offensive line. But every other position I think we've helped ourselves from an athletic standpoint."

On whether the season was successful or not

"I'm very proud of the football team. We never really settled in offensively with any consistency until the second half of the season. But a lot of that had to do with the offensive line. We used five-, six-, and seven-man protections and then we started moving the ball."

On his favorite moment of the season

"I really think that the Bruce Miller play against Marshall was the play of the year. If he doesn't make that play, we're in trouble as far as keeping the motivation alive for the conference title."

On the 2010 depth chart

"We could play a game tomorrow with the talent we have coming back (in 2010). We're losing guys defensively, so we'll have to replace those players. But I think we're headed in the right direction with the talent we have coming back and coming in."

Agility drills and training start back up on January 10th. School on UCF's campus resumes January 11th. Spring practice begins March 18 and the Black and Gold Spring Game will be held on April 10 at Bright House Networks Stadium.
