Lets face it sports fans Vince McMahon is about to destroy TNA in the very beginning of the new Monday night wars.
You might be wondering how this is possible if the showdown on Jan.4th has not even begun. Well Ill list the top 5 reasons why WWE will beat TNA in the ratings.
1.) The first reason is that Vince McMahon is bringing back Bret Hart.
Lets face it this is a storyline that has been in the works since the late 90's. The mere fact that wrestling fans are still getting excited about it means that Bret Hart might be the most relevent wrestler since the announcement was made. Lets not forget his induction into the hall of fame plus his previouse run on WCW has kept him relatively fresh on the eyes of wrestling fans. In terms of younger fans there is of course the Bret Hart DVD a few years ago that sold very well. I understand that there is still some concern over whether audiances care but one must admit that during RAW when his name is mentioned it gets a good reaction. This is a character that will be well recieved into the WWE.
2.) The second reason is that USA appears to be more established than Spike.
The USA has had a much longer time on the air than Spike. I believe that this has allowed it to gain more of a following. We cannot forget that Spike did begin as the TNN channel which used to even show Raw for a few years until it went back to USA. Now what we do know for fact is that WWE does much better in the nielsen ratings each month than TNA. Now a indication of this is that according to nielsen.com WWE Monday night raw is the second highest program that shows product placement activity. That would show that WWE knows how to get sponsers. Another good indication of USA being more established is that they have a very well recieved lineup by viewers.
3.) The third reason is that WWE has bigger name wrestlers than TNA.
Now lets think about this for a second. WWE has more money which means that they can hold on to their stars easier and market them better. WWE has branched out into other forms of media that have allowed it to gain more of a following. Some great examples are that they have not only a film production company but also a music one. The WWE films might not appear to be as successful but their distribution is enough to attract more viewers. Plus with the semi successful films that they have had such as the Marine it allows the wrestlers to become film stars in addition to wrestling stars. Now when you go see an athlete such as John Cena you not only get a great wrestler but also a movie star.
4.) TNA is looking a lot like the old WCW.
Being a wrestling fan I have a great level of respect for older talent but sometimes they do stay past their prime. I really feel that the wrestling veterans can contribute greatly but not if they are being used in the wrong way. So far in TNA i have seen them building up their up and coming talent greatly only to have them squashed by older wrestlers. The main event mafia was a great example of this. The inclusion of TNA is good publicity but we can only hope that Hogan helps put performers over. I gave a good feeling that he will but as of now i find it going down the wrong path.
5.) Vince McMahon has connections plus nobody would turn down the hall of fame.
Wrestlers of the past like the Ultimate Warrior and The Macho Man would love the opportunity to be in the hall of fame and I believe that they would not turn it down even if they worked for TNA. The hall of fame I believe is something that establishes WWE as the main wrestling company of today and of the future. Lets look at facts TNA is largely banking on Hogan and Sting. Hogan is in the hall of fame and we all know Sting will end up there one day. The NFL has the hall of fame and we all know that no other football league can be better than it just based on that alone. WWE has a long and proud history that simply cannot be beat. That is not mentioning that they have access to most of the most relevant matches that most TNA stars have had.
