Steve Jackson finished with 35 points for the Bobcats who snapped a 7 game road losing streak. “This is something we definitely needed, and early before the game I saw we were focus in the locker room.”
Miami made its first six shots for a quick 14-4 lead, and when Beasley elevated over Boris Diaw to slam a missed 3-pointer by Richardson -- maybe the most spectacular finish of the second-year forward's career -- the Heat lead was 13, then ballooned to as much as 29-10 later in the opening quarter.
Charlotte then work up.
And made that 19-point deficit disappear in a hurry, getting within 13 by the end of the first quarter and then turning the game entirely around in the second 12 minutes. D.J. Augustin added all 13 points in the final 11 minutes of the contest. Gerald Wallace scored 15 for Charlotte.
Jackson shot 11 of 20 from the floor, added eight rebounds, and his 3-pointer in front of the Heat bench with 1:50 left sealed it for Charlotte.
Dwayne Wade finished with 29 points and 11 assists for Miami. Wade hit a 3-pointer with 7:33 left, raising three fingers to the crowd, and giving Miami an 83-81 lead.
That was essentially the last hurrah for the Heat, as Jackson answered on the next Charlotte possession with a 3-pointer of his own -- and, in turn, threw up three fingers as well.
Charlotte outscored Miami 32-16 in the second quarter, shooting 12 of 14 from the foul line to take a 49-46 lead into the break.
Before heading into the locker room, Wade drew a technical foul for airing frustration to the officiating crew.
The game went back and forth in the third quarter, with 10 ties and four lead changes. Richardson made all three of his shots in the quarter, all from 3-point range, but the Bobcats held Wade to 2 of 7 shooting in the period and went into the fourth up 73-72 after Diaw's lay-up with 1.7 seconds remaining.
Notes Charlotte will travel to Cleveland tonight and play it’s second game of a back to back tomorrow night as they face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Bobcats upset Cleveland at home on November 27th 94-87.
