When Tom Cable was allowed to run the Oakland Raiders I had a little bit of skepticism because he was basically a short term replacement for Kiffin. He soon gained and raised my hopes by winning his games and even defeating the Tampa Bay Bucs and that alone made me believe that we had a true coach.

Time has passed and Tom has had a really rough year. He has been accused of punching Hanson and his ex-wife. At a time when the Raiders are doing poorly because of a sluggish QB. Seems to me that when drama happens to the raiders it really happens.

Anyway, it appears that Tom Cables ex was having an affair so I understand his anger. As for Hanson, I really dont know but obviously Cable is a force to be reckoned with and I like that character in our Head coach.

Doesnt mean a thing to me that  this happened years ago, so long as he does his job. Did this mean anything to the Raiders fans? I'd like to believe that it did not.

So why keep Tom Cable? The reasons are simple. The Raider organization finally has a coach that can win games. The Raiders have played 100 times better than they have in the past. We have all seen what a difference the "Cableman" has brought to the team. The players respect Tom Cable and are going through a tough time somewhat because of the QB issue. However they are playing hard.

Keeping Tom Cable on the team gives stability to the Raider management team and gives them an opportunity to make the playoffs next year . The Raiders have very few weaknesses overall.

The QB position is well known to all of us. JaGarbage Russell turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. Gradkowski was allowed to shine and he did. Unfortunately he was hurt and Frye has been running the show.

Yet overall with Cable in charge and a really good QB next year , Cable can get this team to the Superbowl. There is always work to be done on the defensive line, Ellis and Seymour are doing an awesome job.   These issues can be worked on prior to next season.I like Gradkowski and the excitement he brings to the game. The Raiders still need an experienced QB to run the show for awhile  Why not Vick?

The secondary is much improved but Chris Johnson needs to up his game more. Sadly the Raider organization is still paying Javon Walker who basically JaGarbage Russells "lack of interest, money leeching" sidekick.

I do enjoy going to the Raider games lately because there is always a chance that we can win. Hopefully JaGarbage is not allowed to touch the ball.

In order to have a winning season next year the Raiders must:

  1. Keep Tom Cable

  2. Release JaGarbage Russell and Javon Walker to the Patriots

  3. Keep Gradkowski, but bring in a seasoned QB

  4. Use the RB's more often, teach Mcfadden not to fumble.

  5. More workout time for the WR's and Defense.

  6. Let Tom Cable be a factor in the draft.

  7. Play in games where the officiating is true. (Tuck Rule)

I would like to see the Raiders defeat the Ravens this weekend and in my opinion we have a great shot at winning provided they play like they have been. Tom Cable can get a win on the way out of this years contention. Tom cable has proven to me that he is a good coach and if allowed to remain as Head coach and should have a great season next year.
