All right, we may not make the playoffs. We did lose 5 games in a row. But hey, we did have a 4,000 yard passer, two 1,000 yard receivers and a 1,000 yard runner. On top of this our TE set a record for receptions at his position on the Steelers. Yet we were totally shut out out on offense by the NFL Pro Bowl selection committee.

We have a certain first ballot hall of fame wide receiver. He sets records virtually every week. He guts it out and goes out hurt and injured and he is not good enough to be selected for the Pro Bowl? The reigning Super Bowl MVP, having a banner year, not good enough? What other receivers with the amount of yards Santonio Holmes has, also has his average yards per catch?

When is Big Ben going to get the respect that his two super bowl rings deserve? He single handedly carried the teams offense on his shoulders how many weeks? Is Rashard Mendenhall chopped liver?

I think this is a clear slap in the face of the Steelers. We may think we are a pass first offensive machine. But the rest of the league has not noticed evidently. I can understand no one from the O-line making it. But no one on the whole offense?

Also they pick rookie Brian Cushing as a linebacker on defense over Woodley? I don't understand that at all. Yet another slap to the Steelers.  They picked 5, that's right 5 Baltimore Ravens for the game by the way.

Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad. The division winning Bengals had not one member of their team selected. We did have James Harrison and Casey Hampton selected. But still the Steelers offense is the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. No respect!

Authors Note: Today Big Ben, LaMarr Woodley and Heath Miller were selected as first alternates for the Pro Bowl. Chances are Ben and Miller will play, as they will be replacing players in the Super Bowl. Not sure any of the outside LBs currently on squad will be in the Super Bowl. Maybe someone read my article!

I still say Hines and Holmes deserve to go too!
