Michael Jordan Vs. Kobe Bryant! Let The Battle Begin!!

Danny Dukker@DannyDukkerCorrespondent IIDecember 23, 2009

Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant. This argument will never end. Who is the best? Well I will show you the facts, but I will make it no secret in my opinion Jordan is the greatest.

Scoring: The goal of a basketball game, plain and simple! Well lets look at the averages:

Jordan: 30.1 (NBA record)

Kobe: 25.1

Ummm... Yeah, not hard to figure out who wins in that category. Jordan holds the all time record for points per game in a career in a virtual tie with Wilt.

Scoring in the playoffs: This is where it counts the most!

Jordan: 33.4 (NBA record)

Kobe: 25

Again not a fair fight considering Jordan holds the record.

So far it's Jordan - 2

               Kobe - 0

Moving on to passing. In my opinion a very important aspect of basketball and since both of these players are SG it should be a fair fight:

Jordan: 5.3 assists per game

Kobe: 4.6 assists per game.

Kobe loses yet again, what a shocker.

Jordan - 3

Kobe - 0

Defence: This is the big one, the cotnribution in this category is worth 5 points.

Jordan: 2.3 Steals per game .88 blocks

Kobe - 1.5 steals per game .5 blocks

Well Jordan holds the record for number of times he was selected to the NBA All Defencive First Teams (9 times tied with Payton) He was a defencive legend. So..

Jordan - 8

Kobe - 0

The last point I am going to cover: Era.

Jordan played in what many people consider the Golden Age of Basketball. Let  me compare some of the players Jordan played with and against:

Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Gary Payton, Karl Malone, John Stockton, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Shawn Kemp, Hakeem Olajuwon, Mookie Blaylock, Patrick Ewing, etc.

Kobe had to deal with:

Tim Duncan, Shaq, LeBron, D-Wade, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Pau Gasol, Vince Carter, T-Mac, Agent Zero, Steve Nash, CP3, Dwight Howard etc.

Most of these guys can't even come close to guys like Bird, Magic, Pippen, Rodma, and so on. Facts are facts.

Now, Jordan wins. This should not be a surprise to anybody. If anyone wants me to go in further, give a hollar and I will do so with great pleasure!

Thank you and from the buttom of my heart Have a wonderful holiday season!
