As I sit down to write this the Jonathan Stewart has just punched the ball into the end zone to put the Carolina Panthers up 19 to 7. It's been some time since I've written an article on BleacherReport but if you take a look at my previous work you know I am not a fan of Brad Childress. Actually, that's being kind. I think Brad Childress is an idiot.
Coming into this season I figured the Vikings would go 8-8 being that they did not have a quarterback. They went out and after a circus like atmosphere signed Brett Favre. My main 'beef' with Childress is that they had assembled an all around solid team but he had neglected the most important position field, the quarterback.
Now there are no more excuses. The Vikings are without question one of the most talented teams in the league and yet any time they face an average to above average opponent they struggle. Whose fault is this?
Fair or not the answer to the above question is Brad Childress. I'd like to believe Zigi Wylf was on a bender the likes of which have only been seen in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas when he offered Childress a contract extension. This is the only logical explanation for giving Childress an extension. Beating up on mediocre teams does not warrant a contract extension.
How many playoff games has Childress won? Hello..? Are you there?
Scratch that the score is now 26-7.
Is there anyone out there who actually thinks Brad Childress is a good coach? Watch him in a crucial spot when it comes to clock management. He's more confused and nervous then a midget trying to get on a ride at the fair that has a height requirement.
Childress is a disaster. I'm so happy he got a new deal because now I can look forward to the team going one and done in the playoffs and I can forget having any hope for the team until Childress gets what he deserves...a pink slip.
