So here I am, pumped up for a great night of Friday Night Smackdown! The last few weeks the matches have been quite dull. I mean, enough excuses but the main events weren't up to par.
But this is it, right? Batista vs. Rey Mysterio in a street fight! Anything goes! Former friends taking it out at each other in an all-out brawl. If this was a success, it would make up for the cruddy November.
I thought that I was going to get a taste of the upcoming Pay-Per-View, Tables Ladders and chairs. I mean, anything goes, right? Tables, Ladders, Chairs, ringside brawls. Batista smashing Rey Mysterio through a table. Rey Mysterio jumping off the top ropes, knocking Batista down ringside.
Instead, what the entire WWE universe got was quite potentially the biggest waste of a main event in my WWE life. Don't get me wrong, I'm 12 years old and I bet you've seen hundreds more episodes than I have. But really, This was garbage compared to what it could have been.
That's right, garbage.
One lousy, rotten, stinkin' chair!
OK, maybe Matt Stryker raised my standards by announcing that they could brawl in the streets of Houston. But the only time they left the ring was when Batista avoided a baseball slide by Rey Mysterio. Batista didn't even hit Rey with the chair!
I know the rating is PG nowadays but a 2-year-old could have watched that and not have been frightened!
Then Mr. McMahon teased me some more. Rey's neck stuck between a chair. Batista at a top ropes. Something he hasn't done since his memorable match against the Undertaker in Wrestlemania 23.
DANG IT! Here comes the Undertaker again. Doesn't he seem to come out every other week just to pretend to scare the living day lights out of wrestlers? Here is the 6 foot 6 inch 290 pound Batista trembling in fear.
Hasn't this happened to him 10 times before?
Heck, if I had been fooled by that 10 times before. I would just charge the ring with a spinebuster and pray it connected. Not just stand there!
I understand that this is a show. And that it is nothing more than a TV show. But every single main event ends with a wrestler cheaply attacking his opponent!
I can't stand watching the same garbage every single week!
I know I'm not the first person to rant about how boring the WWE is. But at least the veterans around here got to watch the Attitude Era.
Where the action was closeup and streetfights actually involved some interesting weapons.
I can speak for the WWE universe. Change television! Before we start changing the channel!
