It was around 1980 give or take a year so and the game was a T night special. A National broadcast. The win would further secure dominance in both the AFC and the NFC. The emerging powerhouse was the San Diego Chargers. Lead by Dan Fouts and company. Arguably one of the greatest teams of all time. The team on the   of the ball, the Dallas Cowboys. Legendary, Americas team. They had the cheerleaders and the Superbowl rings. They stood in the way of a legacy in the making. Air Coryell and the rest of the chargers had emerged on the scene taking it by storm! The energy inside Dallas stadium was intense. Electrifying. Both teams were super bowl bound. This was a prelude to the super bowl. The Chargers came out on fire. Kicking the living shit out of the Cowboys. At the half it looked like the bolts were gonna run away with it. The championship was  that much closer and then something occurred that may have changed history. The Chargers got cocky. They started trash talking and show boating. They were dissing the Cowboys in their house in front of their fans. I remember one of the receivers, I think it was JJ or Chandler spinning the ball in the end zone after a score and then pointing at it rubbing it into the face of Dallas defenders. BIG MISTAKE! Reading the articles Friday morning about how the Cowboys were so offended they decided to kick some Charger ass! Almost thirty years later history is gonna repeat itself. Both teams are front runners in their divisions. If this game is half of the game that one was we are in one helluva Sunday. I've been a Charger fan since 1966. Like so many charger fans that super bowl ring is first on our christmas list. In the words of my friend Kurt Swanson " The Chargers are flying under the radar. They maybe the surprise of the AFC and be the stars in Miami come super bowl Sunday.
