I have had quite enough of Belichick going for it on fourth down the last four weeks. Its time for Belichick to have a ego reality check.
I think everyone remembers the infamous 4th and 2 he should have punted the ball and took his chances with 70 yards behind the defense. the Patriots are 8 for 15 this year on 4th downs but are 0-3 on critical gaming changing 4th downs the last three weeks.
Against the Colts he thought they only needed a yard.
"I thought we could make the yard. We had a good play, we completed it. I don't know how we couldn't get a yard on that completion, but I guess we didn't," said Belichick.
He didn't even know they needed 2. So i ask is Belichick losing it or is it just me.
Against the Saints on Monday night the Patriots were down 31-17 and went for it on 4th and 4 from the Saints 10 yard line and Brady missed Moss for the first. That would have made it 31-20 and the momentum would have been the Patriots.
You might be saying to yourself well yeah but their still two touchdowns away, but remember the Patriots got the ball back two more times in the third and being down three scores changes the play calling.
I could go on and on but the but the outcome is the same.
As for today i have never been more embarrassed to be a Patriots fan that i was today. The Patriots start out with a 14-0 lead and then instead of kicking a field goal before halftime to go up 17-7 Belichick does WHAT goes for it and doesn't get it. Bad 4th call number 3
The defense then comes right back and lets the Dolphins walk down the field and kick a field goal. Making it 14-10 at halftime.
Then Sam ( who should get the ball more) Aiken mad a spectacular catch and took it 81 yards to the house made it 21-10 early in the third. With the score 21-10 the Dolphins kick a field goal. Then for Some reason Belichick decides to throw it on the 5 yard line and Brady throws a pick. WHY WHY WHY??? Give it to Maroney 4 times.
Belichick has made a lot of good decision's in his day but the second half of this year he has coached SCARED. Scared of what you might ask. Scared of the defense that he cant seem to get right. Scared that the rest of the league is figuring out how to stop the Patriots not so spectacular offense.
It seems that all the coaching losses that the Patriots have had over time are starting to catch up to them.
I will continue to be a Die hard Patriots fan and as always "In Bill We Trust"
Though that is getting harder and harder to do.
