This Will Win A Fight
It's long been a question up for debate, and many people have debated it. And with as many articles that have been written about it, and with as many forum posts that have asked the question, it surprises me that an answer has not been reached. That some middle ground has been decided upon and then talked about in those aforementioned forums and articles. The question is this: Out of all the abilities and skills that a fighter must posess, which one is the most important? Which one will be the deciding factor in any of there fights and will get them the "W"?
I think it can be agreed that fighters need to be well rounded, have good cardio and endurance, and want to be in the sport and not doing it for the wrong reasons. Like, to make money and get chicks. You have to love what you're doing.

A.J. Brown Deal Not 'Firm'
Now, a fighter may need all these things, but I believe that there is one more thing that is even more important. I believe that all fighters have to have the ability to be agressive. They have to understand that you must be willing to go after your opponent no matter what.
Some people will make the argument that what a fighter's style is will determine how agressive that certain fighter will be when in the cage or ring. But what people need to realize is that you can have your own style. If you want your style to be that you come out when the bell rings and instantly fall on your back hoping your opponent will follow, fine. Do it. If it works, dont try to fix it. But that fighter needs to realize that at some point, if his strategy is not working, then he needs to decide on something else. He needs to start being more sgressive in the fight. For some people, they have the ability to be agressive while also being on the defense and not being agressive. Chuck Liddell in his early years is a prime example of this. He could back up and still be agressive. He would be going backwards away from his opponent, and he would still be the one throwing more shots, being more agressive, doing more damage.
Unfortunately, for every fighter in the world, we're not all Chuck Liddell. So what do fighter's have to do? Simply what I said above. They don't have to have an agressive style, they just have to realize when their style isn't going to win the fight and when they need to start being more agressive. Becasue in the end, thats what wins fights most of the time. Being the agressor. Mainly because most people will crumble under agression. Most people on't like to piss others off and they don't like making people angry, so when someone does get angry with them or even around them, they will normally fall under the other persons agression and give up just so it will end. And I hate to say it, but if you are someone who is like that, someone who will give in under the agression of others, do not become a fighter. I only say this because I am personally not someone that will back down or crumble under the agression of another human being. I have been in many, many, many physical altercations throughout my life, and know that I will never back down from anyone. That is the only reason I say that anyone that doesn't like agression and will back down shouldn't be a fighter.
So in my opinion, every fighter needs to have an agressive style, or just have the ability to become agressive if need to be and push come to shove. Because in the end, agression is what will win a fight.
