Lately the Boston Celtics have been in a slump and the younger more athletic teams have taken advantage of that.

In the first loss of the Celtics season they lost to the Phoenix Suns. The suns are known for being an up tempo team who can score a lot of points and they have some pretty good athletic players.

The person who really put a hurting on the Celtics in that game was Jason Richardson he scored 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He is known for being a high jumper he won the dunk contest twice.

He was primarily guarded by Ray Allen who is both smaller then him and slower. Ray Allen is known for his shooting but i would have to say his defense is below average and so is his athleticism.

Night in Night out Allen goes against bigger, stronger,Faster, Two guards that he struggles to guard and sometimes score against. If i were management i would try to make a move for a more physical and athletic two guard. The shooting guard position is probably the position you need the most athleticism at.

In the second loss of the season the Celtics faced the Hawks probably the most athletic team in the NBA. Joe Johnson scored 24 points against Ray Allen who had to have help on the block when Johnson went to post him up. Which in turn left bibby and Crawford open for threes.

The frontline of the Celtics were beat up on the boards 49-27 in favor of the Hawks most of the damage being done by Horford and Josh Smith.

The next night against the lowly Pacers they were beat again. Dahntay Jones scored 25 points and Granger scored 29 points.

The frontline was again dominated 43-34 in favor of the Pacers who dont exactly have physically imposing players on the frontline.

Then last night Vince Carter scores 26 points, 10 in the fourth quarter posting up on the block against Allen and torturing him and Pierce for a play with a tough fade way turnaround jumper.

The formula to beat the Celtics is now known to beat them you need young athletic players sprinkle in veteran leadership and run on the fastbreak and outrebound them and you should win.

I doubt this is a Facade or just my infatuation for them to lose but this really is the formula to beat them.
