One chased Kaka one got Kaka. One of them is called Real Madrid. The other is the "Real Madrid" of England's transfer market. They have a knack of changing coaches like clothes but both of the teams are fairly respected in the league. One is the greatest club of all time the other possibly the best team at present. They could be none other than Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Looking at things while Chelsea are going from strength to strength,Real are well struggling in the Galactic sense according to media reports.
Both clubs couldn't be more different. One champions the cause of attacking stylish football with flair while the other effective football.Where Chelsea are accused of being defensive,Real are accused of being over aggressive committing ahead in numbers.
But still there are reasons enough to believe come May 2010,we could well see the Neo-Galacticos lining up against the Pensioners from West London.
Today Chelsea are one of the biggest teams. They were denied only by a JT slip up there only CL title in 2008 while poor refereeing denied them a place in Rome in 2009.Come 2010 the story could be different. They have a capable manager in Carlo Ancelotti plus a squad which is of players full of hunger for the CL.
You couldn't argue that today they are the best club side in Europe. They play their football to their strengths and effectively too. Don't try to play sexy football just winning football and their home ground is a fortress. They rarely loose at the Bridge.
And they could power their way through to the finals come what may.Even the mighty Barcelona doesn't stand upto them with their Messi's and Iniesta's and Xavi's.They showed that last year.hey will show it again if they get a chance. My pick is that they would be there at the Bernabeu next year.
Players to watch for:Mike Essien,Didier Drogba and of course Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack along with Malouda..
Why Real Madrid?
Anybody denying the might of the capital side can be taken to be slightly mad. possible this is the squad that is the best in Europe but is yet to gel.Imagine they are racking up wins when they haven't got it right so what will it be like when they play like a team.. Image the Neo-Galactocos in full flow. They would be irresistible like the Galacticos albeit with a slightly stronger defence with Albiol, Pepe and Ramos.Surely the LB is a problem but that can be overcome in January. And then with Cristiano set to return and a possible migration to a 4-2-3-1 in the offing, who could deny them? With Ronaldo at the right and Higuain at the left and Benz upfront and Kaka behind him, they would stoop to conquer.Wait for then to gel and they would send the Catalans crashing. You might argue against this but even the Catalans have wafer thin defence.Their midfield bails them out more often then not.(By keeping possession that is..).So who could bet against them?
Players to watch:Ronaldo,Kaka,Benzema,Higuain,Alonso and of course Iker Casillas(he is the best in business)
Finally is it possible?
For all my money this will happen at the Bernabeu in 2010.They will meet in the finals if they don't earlier. And yeah they are the teams to watch out for.Except if Rubin Kazan decide to get involved by knocking Barca or Inter out i cant see any team beating them. With Ronaldo Real are a different team and you cant deny the skills of the Blues so all we can do is wait in anticipation for the mouth watering clash...
