At this point in the season many teams have a lot going on, but for some this particular week has turned more interesting then for others.  The Minnesota Vikings this week have talked with Favre about returning in the year 2010.  They have talked with the state of Minnesota about the Mall of American Field at the Metrodome Lease.  Will Winfield return this week?  As well as coach Childress love him or hate him is on the verge of getting a extension on his contract.

Like him or hate him you can't ignore what Childress has brought to this team in Minnesota.  The most notable and most easy to view is the improvement of the team.  From 6-10, 8-8, and 10-6, and now in his Fourth year the Vikings could very easily go 12-15 wins.  Since childress we have witnessed the making of The Williams Wall, with the addition of Pat.  Jared Allen, Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, and Future Hall of Fame Quarterback Brett Favre.  It is easy to go out every week and criticize the vikings and the rest of the coaching staff for bad play calling and what not when in fact bad play calling happens all over the league.  For instance last week against detroit the vikings had a botched reverse with Peterson and Harvin, as well as a 4th and 1 run with Jeff Dugan.  Now with the reverse people are wondering why do we need to be all fancy against the Lions and yes they are probably right, but then again if it worked to the way it was planed the play could have easily gone for six.  With the Dugan run you might be thinking, we have the best running back in the league and on 4th and inches we give it to a man most viking fans are saying, Who?

Again with this play if it works everyone is happy.  Coaching is the one position in which every game you have criticism, no matter with a win or a loss.  Now I'm not out here saying Chilly is the best coach on earth but I think he is definitely better then what most Minnesota Fans give him credit for.  Even i don't agree that when ahead by 2 touchdowns you run the ball until you kick a field goal and let the other team come back on you like the Packer game and Ravens game of this year but respect the coach.  From some fans perspectives we should have a different head coach whether they want another coach from within to take the lead or a coach recently let go to take charge.  Like i say though you can't deny what Chilly has done for this team and what he has brought to this team.  I never thought I would ever see Favre in purple and I certainly didn't think we would have a chance at a Super Bowl run with this coach as well.  The fact of the matter is Childress is getting a contract extension and i agree with it because he deserves it.
