I think it's pretty known now , one of Arsenal's key players of is out and for at least 2 months ...
Does it seem that bad really ? yes it does , he has been magnificent so far this season , scoring 7 goals in the league and assisting another 7 , being called the best forward in the league by Arsene Wenger and at the time he was just getting used to his new role , totally sure this isnt the perfect time for him - or the whole team - to get injured and what hurts more it was in an international FRIENDLY game after Holland have reached the World Cup already though i think it doesnt matter now to mention this .
I watched the game yesterday ( Holland vs Italy ) the tackle didnt seem to be that bad really till I saw Robin down in what it seemed to be severe pain , holding his right ankle and when he couldnt left himself up , i knew he picked a nasty injury and hurt his ankle ligaments . I already knew - before reading the news - that he will be out for about 2-3 months .
A quick look to Arsenal fixtures in that period isnt very joyful , what u need to know is that Arsenal will face Man Utd , Chelsea and Liverpool in 3 consective league games in a matter of one week , Aston Villa twice and Tottenham . * sighs *
If it's gonna take him 2 months to heal , then he will abslutely miss Man utd and Chelsea game, has a slim chance to catch Liverpool game , in the best condition to start from the bench but if it will take 3 months , then no need to mention these games in the 1st place , you know what I mean .
By picking this injury , Van Persie is now holding #7 in the already crowded treatment room besides Theo Walcott , who - acc to my calender - ( should be back tomorrow to training ) , Fabianski ( back on Thursday ) , Denilson ( back on 24/11 ) , Bendtner ( back on 28/11) , Clichy ( back on 1/12 ) and Djourou who may miss the rest of the season .
So after all this , where is the bright side ?
It's the other players and how we should rediscover them ! Most of the injured players will be back - hopefully - in a matter of 2 weeks and now they have the chance to step up and fill the gap and i'm sure they will . Last season when Fabregas was out for 4 months I dont need to describe the pessimism i used to read everyday on web , but we went through tough games and still have produced some beautiful football , so beautiful that after he was back I could read some comments like " i'm wondering if we are already ok with out him ! "
Another thing , we should never think once a player or two are out then we are ruined ! Arsenal isnt just about 1 player and without him we will be hopeless , ofcourse we will suffer just a bit in the 1st couple games but I'm quite sure we will make it , so no need for this pessimistic talking that we are done here , the league is still pretty long and we have quality players other than van persie . We do .
