Saturday night around 12:00am eastern time, Manny Pacquiao will be the first fighter to win seven diffirent belts in seven weight classes. This is a unbelievable feat. The first time Manny fought professionally he weighed 106 lbs and Saturday he will enter the ring at around 145 lbs and fight a beast named Miguel Cotto.

Don't get me wrong this will be no easy task. The fighter Manny is fighting will be the toughest test of his career. Miguel Cotto's record is 34-1-27. That one loss was to the "Tijauna Tornado" Antonio Margarito. That fight is the most controversal fight in the last 30 years because in Margarito's fight last January against Shane Mosley he was caught with plaster of paris hardened in his hand wraps. The beating that Cotto took was so severe that it is without a question in my mind that Margarito had loaded gloves that fight too. So does he really have a loss? I believe his first loss will come tomorrow night.

Manny Pacquiao's record is 49-3-37. He has faster hands and better footwork. Pacquiao's trainor Freddy Roach says that although Manny came up in weight he has kept his power. That power destroyed Ricky Hatton in his last fight in May and now Pacquiao is the Jr Welterweight champion. Before that, he fought legend Oscar De La Hoya. Manny won every round landing his straight left at will.  He also developed a good right hook as seen in the Hatton fight. De La Hoya had to quit on his stool taking to much punishment.

Miguel Cotto's last fight was a tough one. He fought Joshua Clotty of Ghana Africa. Cotto had a tough time with the tight defensive Clotty. Clotty holds his hand up high in a peek a boo style defense. Cotto was able to penetrate that defense, but was hit a lot and sqeeked by with a split decision win. Manny Pacquiao sat ringside with promoter Bob Arum. Not long after, the fight was made. Pacquiao was to have said that Cotto is a great fighter, but he has weaknesses that we will take advantage off.

This is why I think Manny Pacquiao will win. Speed! Speed! Speed! Manny can come in and land a combination and roll out to his right. Manny is a Southpaw, which is even more trouble for Cotto. Manny's trainor Freddie Roach is predicting a first round ko. I don't agree with that. I think this fight will go to the championship rounds 9,10 or 11. I believe Cotto will cut again like he did in the Margarito and Clotty fights. Cotto has built up scar tissue that is bound to open with Pacquiao's punches. Cotto has fought guys with speed, notably Judha and Mosley. Cotto won those fights, but again he's never been in with someone as fast as Manny Pacquiao. I watched the Mosley fight and Sugar Shane had a bad habit of standing in front of Cotto. Manny will not do this he will turn Cotto moving to his right, darting in, landing all sorts of combinations and diffrent angles. The critics will say Cotto has power and will break Manny down, but Manny will be ready. Pacquiao was using a Jr Middleweight Shawn Porter to spar with. He'll be ready for Cotto. I think this fight has the makings of fight of the year. My prediction is Pacquiao in the later rounds.
